Just a couple of miles from Padstow, Trevone is surrounded by inspiring coastal and countryside scenery.

 

The soft sands of Trevone Bay are flanked by high cliffs and rocky outcrops, with crystal-clear waters that sparkle in the summer sun. The sheltered coves make it perfect for families to relax, play, and explore, while the lifeguard-patrolled beach offers peace of mind for swimmers. Adventurous visitors will love the rock pools, full of crabs and marine life, and at low tide, a natural tidal pool appears - ideal for paddlers or anyone who wants a calmer swim.

Just steps from Lagos, Newtrain Bay, known locally as Rocky Beach, offers a very different but equally captivating experience. Perfect for shell collecting and rock pooling, the beach is a haven for curious explorers. At high tide, much of the sand disappears, but as the tide goes out, large rock slabs interspersed with pools are revealed, including a hidden natural sea-water swimming pool further along the coastal path. While Newtrain Bay doesn’t have lifeguards, it shares the same car park, toilets, beach café, and shop as Trevone Bay.

Trevone is also a popular surfing destination. Its sheltered position means the waves are gentle and rolling, making it ideal for beginners or anyone wanting a fun day on the water. 

 

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Trevone is a walker’s paradise. The spectacular South West Coast Path runs right through the village, leading along the cliffs to Harlyn, Padstow, and beyond. Just a short stroll up the cliff, you’ll find Round Hole - a dramatic circular drop where the waves crash below, a favourite spot for curious explorers and photographers alike.

For a taste of local life, the village has plenty to offer. Trevone Café, right by the beach car park, serves up hot and cold drinks, breakfast, lunch, snacks, ice cream, and classic Cornish pasties. Visitors are spoilt for choice for places to eat in nearby Padstow. Also close by is the village of St Merryn with a traditional fish and chip shop, deli and several pubs including the renowned Cornish Arms.

A short stroll from Trevone beach takes you to a highly regarded farm shop, bursting with fresh local produce, while at the heart of the village the pub is a welcoming spot for a hearty meal or a relaxing drink, particularly lively during the summer season.

 

Throughout the year, the village of Trevone retains its laid-back charm, but in summer, it comes alive with beachgoers, village events, and the timeless magic of Cornwall’s north coast.
